In store at MWAA: Payfacs, innovation, cross-selling and more
The Midwest Acquirers Association will return to downtown Chicago for its 15th anniversary show, MWAA 2017. For two days, July 18 and 19, payment professionals will enjoy the amenities of the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile hotel while attending educational presentations, special events and networking opportunities at the hotel's spacious conference facilities.
Providing insights, information and inspiration is the aim of organizers, who provided preliminary descriptions of key presentations slated, as follows:
- Payment facilitator fact and fiction: Just what do Payment Facilitators do? What advantages do they offer? Ask 10 payments pros, and you’ll probably get 10 different answers. Attorney Holli Targan and Industry Consultant Deana Rich will fill you in on the fundamentals of payment facilitation, and what it means to the merchant services industry.
- Awakening innovation: Two inspiring presentations are focused on firing up the spirit of innovation. Juan Ortiz, BluePay Executive Vice President, captivates in his keynote, Inciting Innovation — in Yourself and Your Company. ThinkTank designer Robert Dean, founder of Dean Learning & Talent Advisors, gives hands-on methodology in Sponsoring Your Team Toward Innovation.
- Boosting your bottom line: Selling added services to existing customers is still the quickest way to added profitability. Hear real-life examples and results from three leading payments companies, in Cross-Selling Still the Key to Higher Revenue and Retention.
Other featured speakers include David Barnhardt, Executive Vice President of Product at GIACT; Jeremy Epstein, Managing Director, Technology Banking Group, The PrivateBank; Kim Olszewski, Vice President of Transaction Processing at iStream Financial Services; John Stewart, Editor in Chief, at Digital Transactions; Sonny Wooten; Vice President for Business Development for National Benefit Programs; Dmitry Faybysh founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bankcard Analytics; and Barry Davis, Vice President of Business Development at Womply.
The organization will also present the MWAA Industry Achievement Award to an individual who has "selflessly given back to our industry," the organization stated. Exhibit Hall setup will occur Mon., July 17, from 1:30 to 6 p.m.
As of this writing, a limited number of discounted rooms at the hotel were still available. And while several sponsorship categories were already sold out, opportunities remained to accommodate a range of budgets.
