ETA brings TRANSACT 23 to Atlanta

After years of hosting annual conferences in Las Vegas, the Electronic Transactions Association will bring Transact 23 to Atlanta. Themed "Business at the Speed of Payments," the event will be held April 24 to 26, 2023, at Georgia World Congress Center, stated Jodie Kelley, CEO of ETA.

"Transact is back in full force and will bring payments experts sharing the hottest and exciting trends in payments to an audience of all segments of the modern payments industry," she said, noting the conference will cover cybersecurity, digital currencies and curated content for financial institutions, card brands, payment companies, fintechs and technology innovators. Additional details will be available in the coming weeks, she added, as the association finalizes its agenda.

The ETA's events have been bringing payments industry stakeholders together for more than 30 years, Kelley noted, with webinars, spotlight calls, tradeshows and meetings designed to highlight emerging trends and provide extensive networking opportunities.

Innovation, opportunity, transformation

Transact 23 will feature three main tracks, which Kelley cited as follows:

• Innovation: What are the latest and greatest technologies that are disrupting everything? Who are the newest fintech partnerships? If it's reshaping the payments industry, it will be discussed at Transact Topics include the rise and impact of super-apps and game-changing partnerships between incumbents and fintechs.

• Opportunity: What are some ways to create better commerce and transaction experiences, grow sales and revenue, build better partnerships with clients, and more? This track will include value-based selling to attract and retain customers, new revenue models for ISOs, partnerships that grow revenue and omnichannel solutions to improve revenue and the customer experience, including e-commerce, mobile, brick and mortar.

• Transformation: What is happening at the intersection of commerce, banking, and business services that is putting payment transactions at the forefront of embedded solution use cases? This track will explore the transformative innovation of all things embedded. Topics will include different players who are transforming the industry, how do they work together (ISVs, acquirers, enablers, processors, card brands) and the types of financial services that are being embedded (BNPL and other innovations in lending and credit, payment processing, investing, and insurance).

Top-trending industry issues

The conference will also address a range of topics impacting payments and financial services, event organizers noted, citing the following topics:

• Security, risk and compliance: With growth comes risk—hear from the experts on the current risk landscape, where payments companies are most vulnerable, and how companies are successfully creating safe and healthy paths for growth for their customers and themselves.  Get the 411 on security, risk and compliance from veterans who are tackling issues such as how AI, machine learning and data are being used to fight bad actors and financial crime, as well as how fintech is transforming KYC and AML, and more.

• Crypto, Web3 and the metaverse: The world of cryptocurrency seems more volatile than ever, and with several recent crypto winters that have seen the value of investments crash, it has put enthusiasm for the crypto space on ice. But is now the time to turn our backs on this billion-dollar industry? What new trends are emerging from the fray? And how will crypto and the metaverse play a role in Web3?

• Empower(H)er program: Envisioning a world where women live and work in gender parity, with unlimited opportunities, the ETA will explore women's potential to rise as high as they aspire by advocating for women to drive the payments industry forward. This program offers bespoke content, hands-on training, and networking and mentoring opportunities designed to empower women to advance in their payments and financial services careers.

Public policy, advocacy

Kelley went on to say that ETA membership affords opportunities and benefits, including public policy and advocacy. The organization hosts numerous events that provide opportunities for business development and networking, she stated, with 13 industry affairs committees that help members address common issues through industry collaboration.

She further noted that ETA programs range from professional development to compliance events and offer something for everyone, including ISVs, ISOs, banks, fintechs, PFACs, processors, PFACs, acquirers and card brands. "ETA brings together payments executives to discuss the issues facing the industry, she said. "This collaboration benefits the entire payments industry."
