Trade association news
Following are two news flashes. The first is an alert about a scam targeting hotel bookings for the Northeast Acquirers Association's 40th anniversary show; the second announces an advanced educational offering on compliance from the ETA.
Scammers targeting NEAA hotel bookings
The Northeast Acquirers Association will be celebrating its 40th anniversary at NEAA 2025, to be held March 17 to 19,, 2025 in Atlantic City, N.J. However, scammers are trying to rip off attendees. The NEAA received reports of individuals claiming to offer discounted hotel rates for the event. The association immediately set the record straight, stating it does not solicit hotel room bookings.
"The only way to secure a discounted hotel room rate is by registering for the event and using the official hotel booking link we provide," the NEAA wrote. "If you receive a call offering discounted rates, it is a scam."
To ensure your safety and secure your reservation, the association advised, please "only book through the official link provided during your registration process."
The Northeast Acquirers Association, founded in 1985, has served and educated all distribution channels in the electronic payments industry in the northeast. "Our annual conference provides an educational forum that covers the most current industry issues, trends and topics," the NEAA wrote. "We provide economical access for attendees to meet with the companies that are the front-runners in developing the latest payment technologies, solutions and products. Our conference venues promote optimal settings for payment professionals to network one-on-one or in a group environment."
If you have questions about securing a hotel room or other questions about the event, reach out to the NEAA team.
