    CardX wins: Kansas now surcharge friendly

    CardX, a technology solutions provider specializing in credit card surcharging, scored a legal victory on Feb. 25, 2021 in the U.S. District Court, making Kansas the 47th state to officially recognize the CardX surcharging model. Jonathan Razi, chief executive officer at CardX, called the resolution of CardX LLC v. Derek Schmidt, a defining moment for the payments industry.

    COVID-19 claims fun-loving William W. Paul

    Colleagues, friends and family are mourning the loss of payments industry executive William W. Paul, founder and CEO of William W. Paul Enterprises, dba: Merchants' TPS. A longtime resident of Coral Springs, Fla., Paul was born June 23, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pa., and passed away Feb. 17, 2021, due to complications of COVID-19, according to sources.

    U.S. processor survey finds merchants underwhelmed

    The J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Merchant Services Satisfaction Study, released Feb. 4, 2021, found payment processors could do more to meet the needs of merchant customers. Findings were based on 3,253 small business customers of merchant services providers surveyed between September and November 2020. They rated their processors according to 12 key performance indicators.
