East Coast facing a major storm

New York City and New England are bracing for the impact of a powerful "nor'easter" that is expected to merge with another storm coming from the Midwest today, Fri., Feb. 8, 2013. Weather reports have indicated the resulting blizzard, named Nemo, is likely to dump up to 10 inches of snow on New York City and double that amount on Connecticut and Massachusetts. Other parts of the Eastern United States are also being affected.

The Green Sheet heard from Brooklyn-based Max Advance that it will be closing its doors at 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time today because of the extreme weather conditions. GRP Funding LLC of Springfield, Mass., has already closed its doors. We expect many other businesses will do the same.

We hope all those on the East Coast are able to stay safe, warm and dry while the storm passes through – and that the terrible weather will cause minimal damage. Members of GS Online's MLS Forum are always willing to spread the word if a colleague needs help, so if you're in the eye of the storm, do not hesitate to check in there.
