On April 9, W.net will host a LINC Northern California networking event in conjunction with the 2013 Nomis Payments Forum, being held April 10 to 11 at the Cavallo Point Lodge in Sausalito, Calif. The two-day forum will offer further networking opportunities, breakout sessions, and case studies and research to optimize merchant portfolios. W.net members who attend the forum will receive a discount on forum registration and a spa gift voucher.
On April 30, W.net will host its annual Super LINC in Room 215/216 at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center before the opening reception for the 2013 Electronic Transactions Association Annual Meeting & Expo. The theme of this year's Super LINC will be: Invest in yourself. You can afford it.
A panel discussion titled "Success is about creating value: Women in the industry" will be moderated by New Orleans City Business reporter Jennifer Larino. Shawn Taylor Zelman, W.net Executive Director, said panelists would converse about successes in creating value and focusing on women in payments from a historical perspective.
"Diane Faro, who is one of W.net's founders, is going to speak about what the industry was like then and what it was like for her as a woman professional in the payments industry," Zelman said. "We want to bring in a lot of research and data that's been collected to inform our discussion. We want to look at the hard data and what it says about women in business reaching the senior level and the C-suites. What is the data telling us? And then what are the realities?"
Panelist Polly Wasdin, Director of Recruiting for Heartland Payment Systems Inc., will offer expert advice on leadership opportunities that exist today and in the future for women in payments. A networking reception will immediately follow the Super LINC.
Because space is limited, registration for both events is recommended. To register or to learn more about other upcoming W.net LINC events, visit www.wnetonline.org .
