ETA heralds Star Award finalists

In advance of the Electronic Transactions Association’s Transact17 show, the organization released the names of this year’s Star Awards finalists. The awards recognize innovative leaders who help fulfill the ETA’s mission to grow the payments technology industry, ETA Chief Executive Officer Jason Oxman stated.

Finalists were named in the Business Partner of the Year, ISO of the Year and Committee Volunteer of the Year categories. The winners, as well as Distinguished Payments Professional and Pay It Forward Award honorees will be revealed during the President’s Dinner at Transact17, which will take place from May 10 through 12 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Business Partner of the Year finalists are Mastercard, TSYS and Verifone; ISO of the Year finalists include Anovia Payments, Merchants’ Choice Payment Solutions and National Merchants Association; and Committee Volunteer of the Year finalists are Dan Fritsche, Jon Genovese and Alexis King.

Other Transact17 highlights

The ETA noted the following additional highlights planned for Transact17:

  • Keynote speaker Diane Greene, Senior Vice President of Google Cloud, will take the stage. Featured speakers will also include industry leaders Craig Vosburg, President of Mastercard North America; Carl Perry of Square; executives from Etsy, Wal-Mart, Dunkin' Donuts and Nordstrom representing the merchant perspective on payments; and a tech keynote with leaders from Amazon, Microsoft and Samsung.

  • The Vantiv payments Pitch Off where payments startups compete for the $25,000 E-Pay Innovation Award live on the show floor. Contestants will demonstrate their innovative new electronic payments technology product or service to an audience including media, venture investors and potential industry partners.

  • Focused show floor zones to spotlight innovation channels including The Discover Payments Next Zone; The Forter Risk, Fraud and Security Solutions Zone; The PayPal Tech Innovation Showcase; The Software Zone; and The Mobile Pay Zone.

  • Specialized industry engagement including a day of independent software vendor/integrated payments workshops addressing the impact of changes for ISOs, ISVs, PSPs, and VARs and Payment Facilitator Day, an exclusive, full-day event of targeted content for existing payment facilitators and those considering the solution.

  • Unmatched networking opportunities such as the Merchants Choice Exhibit Hall Opening Reception, the ETA Matchmaking Happy Hour and the First Data All Attendee Closing Party at the Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium.
