WSAA promises a smashing show

Demonstrating the nationwide camaraderie among the payments industry's regional associations, the Western States Acquirers Association congratulated the Midwest Acquirers Association on its stellar July conference before revealing what's in store for WSAA's September show.

"Congratulations to the Midwest Acquirers Association on a fantastic 16th conference," WSAA stated, adding that WSAA looks forward to "continuing the high standards" of the payments industry's conferences at its annual meeting, which will take place Sept. 12 and 13, 2018, at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Pat Ford, vice president, strategic client relations at Vantiv and WSAA president said the association is "pleased and excited" to be returning to Scottsdale this year, based on very favorable responses in the past. "Our attendance numbers are on pace to exceed previous years and obviously we are very grateful for the strong participation by our loyal sponsors and exhibitors, without whom our conference would not be possible," he added. "Beyond that we have another stellar slate of presentations and educational sessions, which will allow us to uphold our tradition of providing a regional conference unparalleled in content, thought leadership, and networking opportunities."

On the agenda

The keynote speaker at WSAA's 15th annual show will be Ken Schmidt, former director of communications strategy at Harley Davidson Motor Co., where he played an active role in one of the most celebrated turnarounds in corporate history -and got paid to ride motorcycles," WSAA posted on its website, westernstatesacquirers.net/keynote/. "He is widely known and respected as one of the business world's most outspoken, provocative and entertaining thought leaders on competition, positioning, reputation management, human behavior, and loyalty."

The heart of the conference will be geared toward the ISOs and merchant level salespeople seeking to reinforce or establish business relationships with payment processors and gateways; software, hardware and service providers; and other enterprises providing value in the payments realm.

In addition to the keynote sponsored by American Express Co., highlights will include an early morning golf tournament of Wed., Sept. 12; ETA University; Mark Dunn's Field Guide for ISO afternoon; Wnet member reception; opening reception sponsored by National Merchants Association; opening night after party sponsored by FIS; general and breakout sessions, and plenty of networking time in the exhibit hall, including lunch with the exhibitors on Thurs., Sept. 13.

"It is amazing to continue to be a part of the evolution of the WSAA conference every year," said Lane Conner, Fuzse founder and CEO and WSAA treasurer. "We listen to the feedback we receive from our attendees each year and try to incorporate that feedback into our planning year over year. We are thrilled to put on our greatest event to date."
