ETA expands membership benefits

The Electronic Transaction Association, a leading payments industry trade association, revealed Oct. 31, 2018, that it will extend discounts and benefits to 2019 members who join ETA or renew their ETA memberships during the 2018 calendar year.

“When you become an 2019 ETA member in the 2018 calendar year, you will have the first chance to join an ETA committee — even before current ETA members!” the ETA wrote. “Plus, you will get the remaining 2018 months free of charge with all of the member benefits.”

In addition to being part of a growing payments industry network, ETA members have access to exclusive events, industry thought leaders and continuous updates on emerging industry trends, ETA organizers noted. These benefits can enhance members’ career development by connecting them with industry advocacy groups and likeminded partners, clients and customers who face similar challenges.

Spanning the payments sphere

As the only membership community dedicated to serving the entire payments ecosystem, the ETA connects members with thousands of payment professionals, including ISOs, payment networks, financial institutions, transaction processors, mobile payment products and services, payment technologies, original equipment manufacturers and independent software vendors.

Established in 1990 as the Bankcard Services Association, the ETA enlarged its scope and rebranded in 1996 to represent all payments stakeholders. Today, the association represents more than 500 companies developing and providing electronic transaction processing products and services. The ETA’s leadership is evident through its education, advocacy and influence, which have played a role in shaping payments industry best practices and legislative and regulatory frameworks.

Enriching the consumer experience

The ETA thanked individual members and member companies for touching, enriching and improving the lives of every consumer by making the global flow of commerce possible. Members receive the following benefits:

  • Exclusive member discounts to all ETA events
  • Member discounts on Transact expo and convention exhibit space
  • Free subscription to Transaction Trends, an ETA trade publication
  • Free subscription to ETA monthly membership newsletter
  • Opportunity to participate in an ETA Committee
  • Access to free ETA webinars, ISO Underwriting Merchant Fraud Guidelines and whitepapers
  • Opportunity to contribute content to ETA newsletters and Transaction Trends Weekly

ETA representatives cited additional benefits for members who volunteer for committees. Committee members interact with peers, develop ideas and affect change, while staying on top of important issues of the day, they stated. “ETA committees and councils offer focused communities where you can discover and develop new ideas in payments, from EMV (Europay, Mastercard and Visa) to the latest in mobile and security best practices,” they said. “Your opinion matters.” end of article
