Laurence Coldicott, senior content director of Fintech Connect 2022, stated he looks forward to participating in a live conference once again after two years of virtual events. "We're thrilled to host the FINTECH Circle Pitching Event, which promises to be a hugely enthralling pitching competition between some of the industry's stand-out entrants," he said, adding contestants will answer questions from angel investors in front of a live audience.
Additional conference highlights include the premiere of the film FinTech for Good, Coldicott noted. The documentary—produced by FINTECH Circle and ITN Business with contributions from Dan Andrews, insurance director at Vitesse; Peter Michel Heilmann, CEO of Reltime; Antony Green, chief product officer at Policy Expert; and Gilbert Verdian, founder and CEO of Quant—will explore the fintech industry's positive impact on people's lives.
In addition, a Dec. 1, 2022, presentation by Alex Bornyakov, minister of digital transformation of Ukraine, will highlight the role of digital technologies and fintech in helping the country survive the Russian invasion and ongoing conflicts in the region.
The far-reaching agenda will feature more than 30 product demos and 70 sessions, event organizers stated, all focused on trending topics such as the metaverse, digital transformation, web 3.0, open banking, AI, crypto and decentralized finance. Event sponsors include Discover Global Network, J.P. Morgan, Finaro, FIS Worldpay, Polymesh, Jumio, Enfuce, Enkata, and major financial institutions along with leading payments, blockchain and analytics firms.
Throughout the two-day event, the Startup Launch Pad stage will feature CEOs and founders from Greenomy, Grape and Fidentity, who will share insights on the financial services industry and emerging socioeconomic and technology trends that have potential to shape fintech's future. Presentations will explore ESG, humanitarian aid and the future of data sharing.
Also on the Startup Launch Pad Stage, Susanne Chisti, CEO at FINTECH Circle, will moderate a tech startup competition with five tech startups and a judging panel of angel investors. Contestants will have five minutes to pitch their solutions and five minutes to answer questions.
Judges include Carol Hagh, FTSE non-executive director at Chesnara, Michael Mellinghoff, Judge FINTECH Circle & Fintech Germany Award, Techfluence UK Ltd, and Brendan Bradley, Chairman, iPushPull.
Contestants include FXGuard, an F/X Risk mitigation service; Seccl tech, a custodian and investment technology provider; Unmai, a "better AI platform"; Kyp.io, a "Know-your-Customer" risk intelligence platform; and 21e6.io, a Swiss investment advisor connecting professional investors with tailor-made crypto investment products.
FinTech Connect 2022 organizers noted they are waiving registration fees for members of the press, merchants and financial institutions. They invited media attendees to conduct interviews and meetings in the event's interactive press room.
