Corporate prepaid on the rise

At Prepaid Summit: Europe 2011 to he held in Milan on Oct. 10 to 11, research will be released that analyzes the growth potential of prepaid cards in the corporate world. According to Financial News Publishing Ltd.'s VRL Financial News, prepaid cards used in the workplace are "likely to experience massive growth in the next 12 months."

The research, commissioned by VRL and conducted by international research firm TNS, is designed to better understand how employers can effectively execute prepaid card programs in corporate environments. VRL said a number of blue-chip organizations in Italy are looking at payroll cards as alternatives to their current payroll disbursement processes.

The agenda of the summit also includes:

• Alternative payments and prepaid
• Contactless and mobile payments across Europe and beyond
• Whether developed markets learn from emerging markets
• Micropayments
• The Electronic Money Directive and the changing regulatory landscape
• Retail, gift and loyalty
• Government and corporate incentives and disbursement

The summit, hosted by VRL and Cards International, another Financial News Publishing media outlet, will convene at the five-star Hotel Principe di Savoia in Milan.
