Aevi began life in 2012 as part of Diebold Nixdorf and became an independent subsidiary in 2015, following the successful launch of its flagship smartPOS solution in Australia. Known for its commitment to innovation and interoperability, the company has received numerous honors, including Best In-Store Payment Solution at the 2021 Payments Awards.
Mike Camerling, CEO at Aevi, stated that Aevi has always been committed to innovation. "Our business has grown and evolved over the last 7 years, and we felt it was time for a change," he said in a statement. "We have not only refreshed our logo and color scheme, but we have also adapted our brand proposition and mission statement to reflect who we are today and to symbolize our future."
Aevi's new brand strategy celebrates possibilities, openness and flexibility in the new digital world, Camerling stated, adding that collaboration and interoperability are part of Aevi's DNA. The company values its partners, he added, focusing on their strengths and enhancing their value proposition. "Aevi is all about openness and collaboration, therefore we have built our platform as much as possible on open standards," he said. "We are making integration and especially interaction much easier for all parties involved in the value chain."
Global mindset
Gene Distler, sales director for the U.S. and Canadian markets at Aevi, described the company as a trustworthy partner committed to partnerships, innovation and growth. "We're lucky to be led by our CEO, Mike Camerling, who has been driving Aevi's impressive growth since 2017," he said. "Our headcount currently stands at 250, with plans to onboard more Aevi'ators in every team this year; these are exciting times for us."
Distler offered this summary of Aevi's value proposition: "Open: from our platform to our world view; fearless: never afraid to innovate and change the game; honest: a trusted partner who never oversells or overpromises; and positive: excited by the future, for us and our customers."
This partner-centric model and flexible solution stack gives merchants a solid infrastructure for building their own scalable payment world, Distler said, and where they can take any kind of payment on any channel or any kind of device. In addition, Aevi's APIs are easy to integrate and designed to power growth of our partners and their merchants, he said.
Partner-centric growth
Distler called 2022 a transformative year for Aevi, pointing out that it included a complete rebranding, gateway build-out and array of exciting new projects and partnerships.
"Our open, cloud-based gateway works with any payment type, anywhere in the world, from cards to phones to crypto and everything in between," Distler said. "Our APIs securely integrate with your existing or new terminal management system and our consolidated solution uses the ISO 20022 open standard, making end-to-end payments nexo-certifiable, where applicable."
Distler went on to say that the Aevi platform frees PSPs and ISOs to extend their in-person payments offerings and open whole new markets. The platform and its tools and resources, he noted, are backed by dedicated service and support, giving partners a chance to stand out from the crowd while providing better solutions to their merchants that will delight their merchants' customers.
Commerce enablement
The payments industry has come a long way from proprietary, walled-garden applications and software, Distler noted, and Aevi is proud to be leading the charge to a next-generation payments ecosystem that is processor-agnostic, device-agnostic and interoperable. Partners can use Aevi's commerce enablement platform to drive strategy, test the market and get closer to their merchant customers, he stated. "We have big ambitions, and we aim to be the first player that comes to mind when people talk about in-person payments orchestration," Distler said. "Together, we can make in-store payments as seamless and innovative as those made online."
