With an ambition to serve the financial transactions industry, Riad Alakkam, founder and chairman of JR's POS Depot, established the company in 2000. Alakkam has served the credit card industry since 1988 in various capacities, including programming, sales and operations roles at Panasonic, Novatek and Unipay before launching JR's POS Depot. The company is headquartered in Coral Springs, Fla., privately held, and operated by its shareholders and officers. According to Alakkam, the goal at JR's POS Depot is to "provide competitive pricing along with exceptional personalized service to our customers." Services offered include POS system design, as well as deployment, encryption, and repair services. Dedicated to service From warehousing equipment inventory, to providing next-day replacement service, JR's POS Depot functions as a full-service transaction equipment and fulfillment provider. The company ensures all equipment deployed through its delivery channels follow Visa USA encryption and support organization standards, and its state-of-the-art repair facility has been point-to-point encryption certified by the PCI Security Standards Council and is fully authorized to work on all current-model POS equipment, the company noted.

Full range of products
JR's POS Depot offers many new and refurbished brand-name payment equipment options, all of which meet today's security standards. The list includes both countertop and wireless terminals, along with ancillary devices such as PIN pads and magnetic stripe card readers. Through a recent partnership, JR's POS Depot is now offering the PAX S90 BPRS Class A, Apriva-certified wireless terminal as a top-line option. "PAX and JR's exclusive relationship provides us the ability to encrypt, download, file build, and deploy for less than most charge for a wireless unit," the company stated when announcing the partnership with Apriva.
Fostering loyalty, growth
Other recent additions to the company's equipment portfolio include the Castle MP200L and VEGA3000 machines, along with support that includes secure key injection and encryption, programming, repairs, and custom deployment. Lauding the partnership, Winston Fong, Castle's CEO-North America, said, "JR's POS Depot's years of proven industry expertise, reliability, and personalized hardware support aligns with Castle's devotion to payment technology that promotes ingenuity and 21st century thinking."
JR's POS Depot also offers enhancements such as multilane signature capture services and restaurant/retail software solutions, as well as full-scale POS systems and support for larger merchants. In addition, the company is known for its terminal paper products, supplies and other accessories used by merchants at the POS.
