GS bids farewell to one of our own
It is with mixed emotions that we say "ciao" to Rita Francis, National Advertising Manager of The Green Sheet. On July 20, 2013, Rita retired in order to spend more time with her family. Rita joined The Green Sheet in June 2004 as an Advertising Account Executive. She has worked tirelessly over the past nine years assisting our advertisers in building their media presence. Her considerable knowledge and experience in sales and customer service have played a key role in the success of The Green Sheet.
Rita established the GS offices in Cache, Okla., providing us with a broader base for our clientele. Those who worked with her now have a newfound knowledge of Oklahoma colloquialisms. "Up to my ass in alligators with no way to empty the swamp" is a favorite. Over the years she has also provided friendship and counsel to each of us. Her keen sense of humor and compassionate nature have always been a source of joy. We are all proud to call her our friend.
While we know Rita will be kept busy with her large and growing family, we hope she will be able to find time to devote to her passion: singing. Rita was and is a professional singer; she performed nationally for over 40 years. Some of us have been lucky enough to hear her, if only singing Happy Birthday over the phone. She is also a classically trained pianist with a repertoire from Beethoven to honky-tonk.
While we will miss her, we wish her the best in her new endeavors. And since we have now figured out exactly where Cache is, we plan to stop by for some fine Southern cooking!
