Where to begin?
I am interested in pursuing a career in the merchant services industry. Where do I start?

Shaun, There are so many facets to this industry, so many types of jobs that you can pursue, and so many paths to success, that it is impossible to tell you where to begin. However, the backbone of payments is selling merchant services. The best way to learn the complex payments marketplace is from the ground up by becoming a merchant level salesperson at a reputable ISO. Once you gain enough experience and knowledge, you can venture into whatever direction you choose.
But that's not the only way to go. People with no history in payments have jumped in with both feet at the ISO level and succeeded. One example is Justin Milmeister, founder and President of Southern California-based Elite Merchant Solutions. He was profiled in The Green Sheet’s Meet the Expert feature, in the 12:03:02 issue, published March 26, 2012.
Generally speaking, The Green Sheet provides a wealth of information about payments and can be an invaluable educational resource as you find your calling, navigate your own distinct journey and realize your dreams.

Also, Michael Doron, Managing Director of Pay.On America Inc., informed us he misspoke when being interviewed for "Global Acquiring – Part 1," The Green Sheet, May 26, 2014, issue 14:05:02. The number of banks that offer iDeal as a payment option in the Netherlands is 10, not 22.
