Fully integrated POS inside custom mobile apps
CardFlight, a provider of tools and technology to power mobile sales, reported it has an easy way to fully integrate the POS into custom applications for a complete mobile payments and mobile POS experience. The end-to-end solution includes encrypted payment card readers and a payment gateway that supports 23 payment processors.
CardFlight emphasized that its solutions are designed specifically for ISOs, acquirers, and merchant level salespeope (MLS), many of whom were involved in design decisions and early tests. The company does not sell or market any solutions or services directly to merchants. CardFlight also noted that developers can use its native software development kits for both iOS and Android platforms to seamlessly incorporate secure, leading-edge POS software into mobile applications by adding a few lines of code. CardFlight solutions have been broadly applied to an array of vertical industries including retail, food and beverage, beauty and wellness, and mobile delivery services.
Mobile in the real world
"We were trying to build a mobile app that would use a magnetic stripe reader to read credit card data, and quickly realized that existing options were difficult to use," said CardFlight Chief Executive Officer Derek Webster. The team quickly discovered that developing Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS)-compliant, mobile POS software is a complex proposition involving hardware integrations, customized encryption processes and integration with legacy software libraries that are frequently lacking in documentation.
"There needed to be an easier way to integrate mobile payments for real world commerce. It didn't exist in the market, so we decided to build it," Webster said.
CardFlight's encrypted payment card readers function without cables and batteries and can be securely fastened to a mobile phone's audio jack. A PCI Level 1 certified payment gateway supports most major processors. A reseller portal facilitates onboarding and portfolio management.
CardFlight, a winner of the 2014 Electronic Transactions Association Technology Innovation Award, routinely hosts mobile meetups in New York City that showcase a range of emerging solutions designed to enhance the mobile payments technology ecosystem.
