ETA returns to San Francisco for Transact Tech
The Electronic Transactions Association and sponsors PayPal Inc. and Discover Financial Services will hold Transact Tech on Nov. 10, 2015 in San Francisco. A keynote address by ETA Chief Executive Officer Jason Oxman will open the one-day educational and networking seminar. Conference presentations will cover a range of topics related to emerging payment technologies, including peer-to-peer payments, startup investors' roundtable, POS technologies, authentication methods, and cloud and mobile payment trends.
Oxman described the venue as "the perfect platform for payments and technology companies to connect" that builds on the recent success of Transact 15, the ETA's annual convention, which was held in April 2015. "ETA is nurturing innovation and building bridges among entrepreneurs, investors and industry titans in payments," he added.
Transact Tech is the latest in a series of ETA initiatives such as Transaction Alley Day in Atlanta and Silicon Alley Day in New York. These events are designed to broaden the organization's role as a leading payments industry trade association dedicated to education, advocacy and exchange of information.
A heritage of innovation and partnership
The ETA is focused on becoming a "global leader in facilitating the growth and success of our members and the electronic transactions industry," Oxman said. It has evolved since its 1990 debut as the Bankcard Services Association. It gained a new moniker in 1996 to reflect a broader charter and international reach.
Oxman, who has strengthened ties with the industry's regional associations, was a featured speaker at the Northeast Acquirers Association meeting held in January 2015. He also presented at the Southeast and Midwest Acquirers Association conferences and plans to participate in the Western States Acquirers Association conference in October 2015.
"The ETA and the regional acquiring associations, while all separate entities, have achieved a positive, supportive relationship in the last couple of years, working together to help acquirers and ISOs improve their knowledge and skills," said Nancy Austin, Vice President of the Northeast Acquirers Association.
