Next-generation touch screen tablet POS
Partner Tech Corp., POS hardware solutions provider based in Irvine, Calif., with offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Korea and Taiwan, recently introduced a new generation of POS devices: the SP-2500 transformable POS touch terminal and the EM-300 mobile enterprise tablet.
SP-2500 transformable touch terminal
The SP-2500 POS PC is an industrial grade POS computer powered by an Intel Bay Trail J1900 CPU. The system is designed to perform optimally in high-volume, high-transaction retail environments. Its adaptable capacitive screens support retail clerk and customer-facing touch POS functionality. Features noted by the company include:
- Multiple sizes: The SP-2500 POS PC is compatible with Windows 7, POSReady 7 and Windows embedded 8.1 pro retail operating systems. Models feature patented fan-less technology and are available in several screen sizes, including 18.5", 15.6" and 11.6".
- Flexible uses, peripherals: The SP-2500 is equipped with projected capacitive multitouch screens. Peripheral options include an integrated mag stripe card reader; Europay, MasterCard and Visa card reader; near field communication reader; 2D scanner and customer-facing display. Biometric fingerprint readers are also available.
EM-300 enterprise tablet for mobile POS
Partner Tech's rugged, portable EM-300 tablet is designed for high-volume, high-performance industrial, hospitality and service applications. With multiple USB ports, protective jacket, mag-stripe card reader, scanner, and shoulder and hand straps, the EM-300 provides a flexible design that can quickly adapt across a range of job sites and settings. The device supports a full range of leading POS software applications, Partner Tech noted.
Features the company highlighted include:
- Lightweight, adaptable: The easy-to-use 10.1" LCD-TFT monitor can withstand repeated drops on concrete from up to 4 feet. Unlike other tablets that require separate attachments, the EM-300 has integrated card readers. Its light weight of just 2 pounds, long battery life and multiple connectivity options make it highly adaptable to a variety of retail settings.
- All-in-one, small footprint: The EM-300 has an Intel Celeron N3000 CPU and supports WWAN, Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11 wireless communication protocols. It features a large 10.1" screen that is easy to read, 1D and 2D scanners, 3 track magnetic card readers, near field communication readers and optional fingerprint biometric readers.
- Additional characteristics: The EM-300 is an innovative, all-in-one POS system with a small footprint that is easy to carry. Its screen supports portrait and landscape display. Its power saving design extends its battery life and a spill-resistant front bezel further protects the unit for mobile environments. Optional POS base units, docking stations and hand straps are also available.
Optional receipt printer
Both the SP-2500 and the EM-300 can be paired with Partner Tech's RP-600 high-speed thermal printer. The RP-600 has a printing rate of up to 230 mm per second at a resolution of 180 dpi.
Energy Star qualified, the RP-600 can reduce paper consumption up to 35 percent through its variety of printing options. Its compact size and high performance make this dependable model absolutely ideal for many applications, the company noted.
The RP-600's character sets can be enlarged horizontally and vertically to satisfy any text requirement, while the watermark option can individualize each print. A range of interface and port options allows for simple, easy installation and integration to POS environments and solutions, Partner Tech added.
