In Memoriam: Stephen Blaine Christianson

With a heavy heart, I must announce that on Dec. 6, 2020, WSAA and The Green Sheet's own Stephen (Steve) Blaine Christianson—beloved husband, father of three, grandfather to five, bankcard industry stalwart, owner of the highly successful ISO All Card Processing, and co-founder of WSAA—passed away.

Steve was born in Williston, N.D. to Kermit and Shirley Christianson. He graduated from Williston High School, attended college at Augustana and UND, and worked in the restaurant business for many years, managing Country Kitchens, before moving on to work in bankcard sales.

A devoted husband, father, friend

Steve married Cheryl, and they resided in Billings, Mont., near Steve's family before moving to California in 1986. There, they spent happy, hard-working years raising three children. Steve founded All Card Processing in 1998 and enjoyed many years of success in the payment industry, thanks to a network of loyal clients, many of whom became his friends.

One of Steve's great contributions to the payment industry was being part of the founding team of professionals that started the Western States Acquirers Association in 2003. He served as WSAA's first treasurer and was a great example of integrity and detailed bookkeeping that helped launch the financial soundness of the organization. He was also a long-standing member of The Green Sheet Advisory Board.

Steve was beloved by all who met him and befriended so many within the payments industry. He will truly be missed. Unabashedly proud of his children and grandchildren, he was known as a storyteller and joker, baseball fan and golfer, a lover of airplanes, and a guy-next-door salesman who could shoot the breeze with anyone.

A life lived in gratitude

He was also grateful for the gifts life had given him through his hard work, persistence and a little bit of luck. He was an encouragement to many, and he always wanted his friends and family to experience and appreciate all that life had to offer.

His last years were difficult, as his health declined, but he was cared for lovingly at home by Cheryl until the very end. He was preceded in death by his father, Kermit, and his mothers, Shirley and Amy; his brother, Kelly; and his sister Lee Gae Ruby. He is survived by Cheryl; his three children, Heather, Joe and Katie; his grandchildren, Marley Jo, Beckett, Caleb, Charlotte and Ruby Blaine; his brothers, David and Mike; and many cousins, nieces, nephew and dear friends.

No services will be held at this time. No flowers, please, but you may donate in his name to Williston (North Dakota) Little League, WPRD Foundation P.O. Box 1153 Williston, ND 58802. Also, if you wish to send condolences, please email me, Steve Eazell, at seazell@complypact.com, or send cards to me at 228 Windsor River Rd, Ste. 125, Windsor, CA 95492.
