Does
this sound familiar? You leave work Friday and you are exhausted. You tell
yourself you are going to get some sleep this weekend, get some stuff done
around the house, maybe do some reading and come in Monday morning well
rested, and ready for a brand new week. Then, all of the sudden
it’s Monday and you don’t know where the time went. You’re even more
tired than you were Friday afternoon and you already feel like you’re
running behind.
Here
are some tips to make the
beginning of your week start off fresh and powerful, rather than drained
and wondering how you are going make it all the way to Friday.
-
On Friday, give yourself something to
look
forward to on Monday. Schedule a
meeting at your favorite restaurant or plan to drop in on one of your
favorite merchants.
-
Schedule at least one other meeting for Monday, so you can spend your day
making sales rather than making appointments.
-
Before you leave work on Friday, clean up your work area and have any
important notes or calls to make organized and ready for Monday morning.
-
Enjoy your Friday night and Saturday!
-
Gas up the car Sunday morning.
-
Try not to schedule any activities for Sunday evening.
-
On Sunday evening, plan what you need for the morning and set it out the
night before. If you have kids, do the same for them.
-
Plan to go to bed 30 minutes earlier than you normally do. Bring something
to read to bed so, you can rest, even if you can’t fall asleep.
-
Monday morning plan to get to the office 15-30 minutes earlier than
normal. Even if you can’t get their early, the extra cushion will help
you deal with any unexpected mishaps-kids forgot lunch, traffic accident,
etc.
Mondays
don’t have to be an uphill battle. If you plan ahead, Mondays can be
productive and rewarding, and not nearly as exhausting as you think!
