NDC
eCommerce recently released a new Web-accessible service that gives retail
merchants a faster, cheaper way to get POS credit card transaction
information. Merchants can use the data to better manage the accounting
processes associated with credit card acceptance.
The
service is called Insight Payment Intelligence and it uses a Windows-based
format to allow merchants to view their daily transaction data. One of the
things that makes it unique is the fact that it is a Java based client
server application, not a Web browser. This means that it can operate
faster and allow secure access to charge-back information.
“With
our Insight offering, we’ve created a higher level of value-added
information that provides secure, Intranet and Web access to credit card
transaction data —information that was previously only available in
paper format or raw data files,” said Tom Dunn, chief operating officer
of NDC eCommerce.
Some
of that “higher level” of information includes credit card
authorization data, information about settled transactions, average ticket
amounts, and batch totals. The data can also be viewed in chart or graph
formats and export to financial software for further analysis.
