Checkmate Corp.’s eN-LAN™
4000 local area network solution has completed certification with Vital
Processing Services. Harris Bank is the first acquirer to use the Class A
certified IVI Checkmate LAN solution on Vital’s processing network.
John
Mamalakis, Vice President and General Manager of IVI Checkmate Financial
Systems said, “We are bringing the functionality that large national
chains have profited from to the small retail and restaurant market
segments.”
The
eN-LAN 4000 local area network solution provides credit and debit
processing, password-protected functions and a variety of reports
navigable from user prompts. The eN-LAN 4000 is also simple to install
using standard color-coded cables and telephone-style connectors.
The
IVI Checkmate LAN solution manages simultaneous calls for authorization
and receipt printings for faster and more responsive customer service. It
can request several transaction approvals within a single phone call,
reducing customer service times and telephone costs.
At
the end of the day, users of the eN-LAN 4000 solution have a single
transaction settlement batch. All terminals access and share the single
batch of transaction data, so only one settlement is necessary for all
terminals on the LAN. Editing and printing can be made from any terminal
on the LAN at the end of a shift including tip adjustments. For example,
wait staff in a restaurant can add their tips to any terminal at the end
of their shift, instead of being confined to the single primary
workstation where the authorization took place.
