Hello:
My
name
is Lenbert Shropshire and I attended the Green Sheet Seminar in Atlanta.
Thank you Paul for an educational day! I work for Resource Leasing
Corporation in Herndon, VA. I did learn a great deal about the future of
our industry at the seminar, and I am glad to have the presentation
materials I received there for my records. I do have a request, however.
Due to the close fit of the schedule, I did not get to meet as many people
at the seminar as I would have liked. I would like to request a list of
contacts from the seminar I attended, so that I may contact them. Please
let me know if this is possible.
Thank
you for a great seminar, and for your time,
“Shrop”,
RLC Equipment Sales
Shrop:
We’re
very please that you found The Green Sheet Seminar to be useful. Our goal
is to pack as much information and opportunity into the 9.5 hours as
possible. Thank you for taking the time to join us.
The
Green Sheet, Inc., database is proprietary and, in many ways, our most
valuable asset. Hence, we do not publish the attendee list from the
seminars. For information on advertising opportunities that would enable
you to reach our readership, please contact Alex Horvath, Advertising
Account Executive, at (800) 757-4441.

Hello
Green Sheet:
Hope
you are all well. I need your help.
I
am getting back in the bankcard industry and I need to get my feet wet.
How and who would be good for me to use to generate leads? Or where is a
good place to buy leads? Since I have been out of touch, I don’t know
what is successful and not.
Best
Regards,
Pete
Dear
Pete:
Thank
you for your e-mail and welcome back to the industry. Regarding leads,
issue 99:10:01 has an article about Alliance TeleServices which may be
helpful to you. Their phone number is (800) 706-0608, ext. 0
Also,
several companies offer leads as part of their overall program. Two to try
are edcfree.com (703-821-0232 ) which will provide leads as rewards for
visiting their Web site and NXT.com (516- 777-3339). Both of these sites
will allow ISOs to “bid” on accounts.
Please
keep in mind that The Green Sheet, Inc., does not endorse any particular
product or service.

Dear
Paul:
When
we met at the Baltimore ETA session, I said that I have undertaken some
initiative to broaden the base of my business and make buying my credit
card systems and equipment an easier choice due to the value added by
these other programs. It was your comments in The
Green Sheet about broadening our product offering that gave me the
impetus to do just that. A salute to you and for your insight!
Presently,
I am offering promotional and advertising products to my customers and
other companies in this area. I have become an authorized dealer for
Kaeser and Blair, a 106-year-old company, currently ranked #5 in the
industry. As an authorized dealer, I want to set up satellite dealerships
throughout the country so that others in our industry can take advantage
of this program and help get a better return for their sales efforts. Nine
billion dollars of promotional products are sold every year. . . some to
your own current credit card customers.
The
deposit of $85.00 brings a 35-pound box of samples and catalogs to the
dealer. This sum is completely refundable by returning the package within
30 days or, upon reaching $1,500.00 in gross sales. This guarantee is in
writing.
There
are no minimums for sales or volume. Commissions are paid weekly, or daily
if the dealer selects ACH as their payment method. Once a new dealer
submits their first sale, they are issued a dealer ID number and placed on
the mailing list to receive future samples, promotions, and announcement.
The company offers excellent marketing support via two catalogs available
to dealers. First is an 18-panel “Best Buys” catalog suitable for
mailing in a standard #10 envelope. There is also a 182-page catalog
available, which is more comprehensive. About 24 other catalogs from other
companies specializing in various items are included in the starter kit. A
toll-free telephone line is also available for questions, problems, etc.
Probably
the best part of this program is that dealers may clone themselves to
create their own marketing organization as they acquire experience and a
sales base. Any ISO or sales rep joining me can do this! An average level
of commission is 22-25%.
Interested
ISOs or sales reps are invited to call, write, or fax me. I will send them
a special kit containing a short video and other related materials for
their consideration. I truly believe that this business is a perfect
companion to our industry. We meet businesses of all types every day, thus
presenting an automatic sales opportunity. I hope that many of my industry
colleagues will take advantage of this program.
As
always Paul, thanks for your support and perceptive guidance to our
industry.
Best
Regards,
William

Dear
Green Sheet:
Just
read the April 3, 2000 issue, page 13. FYI: Visa and MasterCard have now
introduced $0 liability for unauthorized card purchases. Visa even has a
few TV commercials addressing this.
Industry
experts believe the reasoning is to boost Internet purchases for those
worried about submitting their card number over the Internet.
