“I
do not think there is any other quality so essential to success of any
kind as the quality of perseverance. It overcomes almost everything, even
nature.”
-John
D. Rockefeller
Anyone
can tell you that succeeding in sales is extremely difficult. The standard
that most sales are closed on the fifth call, and only 20% of all
salespeople make that fifth call gives you an idea of what persistence
really means. When you face phrases such as “not interested” and
“don’t need it” on an everyday basis, you must be persistent in
order to succeed.
Persistence
is more than just the concept that you need to plug through because it is
part of your job. Persistence is understanding what’s necessary to reach your goals, having the strength to endure, and of course, not giving up.
