What
is the one thing you did not like about the holidays as a kid? The thank
you notes. But you knew that if you didn’t thank your relatives there
was the chance that next year you would unwrap a fruitcake instead of the
gift you wanted.
Thank
you notes are important. They show that you respect the prospect’s time,
value their business, and want to continue the relationship. Here’s a
tip to make sure you get your thank you notes out promptly: Before you
leave for the sales call, address and stamp and envelope to the prospect.
Then, when you return to your car after the call, jot a note and mail it
from the nearest mailbox. The note will arrive in a day or two and when
you place a follow-up call to the prospect, your note will be fresh in
their mind.
