Hypercom
and Nelcela Reduce Cost
Hypercom’s
HyperWare Developers’ Toolkit (HDT) is helping Nelcela, Inc., a leading
software developer for the electronics payment industry, cut development cycle
times by nearly 50% and reduce development costs.
Nelcela is using Hypercom’s
HDT as the primary application development tool for integrating stored-value
applications onto existing Hypercom-based electronic payment processing
applications. Nelcela’s customers include bank processors, large merchants and
new ventures seeking customized applications.
Hypercom’s HDT gives
value-added resellers (VARs) the ability to quickly develop value-added
applications or customize the functionality of Hypercom’s ICE family of card
payment terminals and Web appliances.
“Hypercom’s HDT has
enabled us to cut our development time in almost half,” said Alec Dollarhide,
vice president of engineering, Nelcela. “We can now seamlessly create or
enhance existing debit and credit card products with new stored-value gift,
phone and loyalty applications much more rapidly, improving our delivery times
and reducing our costs.”
Kathy Crumley, vice
president, VAR Relations, Hypercom Corporation, said, “With Hypercom’s HDT,
VARs like Nelcela gain greater control over the application development process
and improved flexibility in designing functionality to fit a merchant’s unique
requirements.”
Applications developed using
HDT range from managing Web storefronts to placing orders with suppliers,
tracking shipments, and processing credit applications. HDT-based applications
are portable across the Hypercom ICE family of card payment appliances.
Nelcela software is designed
to facilitate merchant electronic authorization and data capture, Internet
commerce, clearing, settlement and exception processing and risk management. For
