Are you a Customer Service Rep?
If someone asks you what line of business you are in,
your probably say sales. While
that is true, you are also in the customer service business. You provide
services to your customers, and you make sure they are satisfied with
those services. In fact, you strive to create merchants who are so happy
and pleased with your service they can’t help telling others how great
you and your services are.
Now that we know how important customer service is, here
are some tips to hone your skills and create merchants who serve as human
billboards for you and your services:
Be Honest: Old
Abe was right -never tell a lie. Customer service does not mean glossing
over errors or simply trying not to rock the boat. Your merchants need to
be able to trust you. If you have to tell them that a product shipped late
or a price has increased, do so.
Anticipate: Think about what your merchant might need and
offer it. Being able to recognize a merchant’s needs, even before he
does, is a sign of excellent customer care.
Act as a Partner: Customer
service is a team effort that requires cooperation from all parties. Ask
for help, offer assistance and encourage dialog among your co-workers and
clients.
Set High Standards: You know you can do a good job, how
about striving to do an excellent job? Know your business and industry
inside and out. Learn as much as you can about your merchant’s business
and their competitors’ businesses. Use this knowledge to provide
five-star customer service.
Providing
excellent service merchants clients who are satisfied and profitable.
Profitable merchants translate into repeat business and productive
referrals for you!
