It's Z ... as in 'Zoop'

It's Z ... as in 'Zoop' It's a new-concept mobile payment service utilizing infrared protocol between handheld devices (cellular phones, PDAs) and infrared adapters connected with POS devices.

It works just like a TV remote control.

It transmits the saved payment information through an infrared beam to make a payment with just a push of a button.

What is it? It's Zoop!

Zoop offers the following selling points:

No changes to terminal itself. Simple attachment to terminal. No changes to back end. No airtime charged for transaction. One solution that works everywhere. Easy, simple, safe, fast and convenient to use.

Zoop's applications are built to work on every point of payment transaction that covers offline, online and wireless. Restaurants, hotels, department stores, retail outlets, movies, ATMs, kiosks, tollgates, public transportation, drive-through facilities, gas stations, parking lots - they all can be serviced by Zoop.

By providing a one-touch, hassle-free approach to making payments and purchases via infrared, Zoop eliminates the need for consumers to carry handfuls of credit and debit cards. Zoop eliminates the need for consumers and cars to wait in line. Zoop can even eliminate the need to memorize important financial information, such as credit and debit card numbers.

As for e-commerce, payments can be made with a push of a button on either a mobile phone or PDA. Because the payment information is transacted in secured code, Zoop insures that no one else can access and use that information.

Want to fly through a tollgate without stopping? Just push a button on a PDA and drive on through. The fare will be charged to your credit card and billed automatically the next month. The same is true for subway and bus cards.

With a Zoop receiver attached to the gas pump at the local station, drivers can just shoot their financial information to the receiver, and a fast, easy, secure payment is made. The completed transaction message displayed on the cell phone or PDA allows for instant verification of the transaction without waiting for a receipt.

Where did Zoop come from? Zoop is the first optic payment system developed by Harex InfoTech through its own investment and technology. Established in 1997 and headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, with a newly opened U.S. office in San Jose, Calif., Harex's fields of business include e-commerce solutions for B2B and B2C, payment gateways, Internet service and security solutions.
