Pennsylvania Considers Caps on Check Fees


The debate over bounced check fees is moving to Pennsylvania. State Rep. Babette Josephs introduced a bill late in the year, that would cap the fees banks charge consumers who write checks against accounts with nonsufficient funds.

Other states, such as New York and Florida, are discussing similar ideas, which may also include ceilings on the charge imposed on retailers.
