A Thing New Tools In The War Against POS Clerical Errors
New Tools In The War Against POS Clerical Errors

If you have sold Check Guarantee Services, then you know from an historical perspective that retailers have on-going training problems at the point-of-sale.

As much as the retailer wants procedures to be simple and straight forward, the register personnel often have varied procedures for VISA and MasterCard, Debit cards, American Express, Discover, and of course, Checks, and Cash. Each may have different sales drafts, and different phone numbers to call for authorization problems, a need to identify when a Pin number is required, and the gathering of the appropriate information which must be written on a check.

CrossCheck Inc., the company which is leading the growth cycle within the industry, has announced what they call No Fault Protection, which will make the retailers' training problem just a little easier. With No Fault Protection , a first within the industry, a retailer is covered for such events as: Forgetting to get an approval on a check, Not depositing a check when required, Failing to mail a bounced check in for reimbursement when required, Forgetting to compare the consumer's signature to the ID, Forgetting to write the approval information on the check, or Failing to complete the check procedure correctly.

These problems have always made retailers upset with Guarantee companies for rejecting or returning such checks, even though they represented only about 3% of the claims submitted, and the merchant was in fact at fault.

Why are merchants upset? The answer is: The retailer can not assure consistent results at the point-of-sale. Payment procedures will always have a degree of error, and what the retailer really wants is the greatest degree of simplicity possible.

With CrossCheck's new No Fault Protection, the retailers can now have their cake and eat it too. They can now even have twice the level of clerical problems at the point-of-sale, without claims being rejected.
