PMT Strategy: Growth Through Acquiring Merchant Portfolios
PMT Services, Inc. of Brentwood, Tennessee (NASDAQ/NM:PMTS) continues to be in the merchant portfolio acquisition business according to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Rich Roberts.
"PMT's results were right on track for the fourth quarter of fiscal 1996, primarily because of the success of the Company's aggressive acquisition strategy. Having completed the acquisition of five merchant portfolios with 34,500 accounts during fiscal 1996, PMT completed the year with a total portfolio of approximately 89,500 accounts compared with approximately 61,000 at the end of fiscal 1995," according to a PMT news release.
One of the recent PMT acquisitions was Martin Howe Associates, Inc. acquired by PMT on July 1, 1996. Jack Martin, of Martin Howe Associates, has served as the President of the BSA over the last year.
PMT is said to be one of the largest independent service organizations in the country.
