VRP2000 Update
In the September 1996 issue of The Green Sheet we reported
on the VRP2000 printer being distributed by The Horizon Group in St.
Louis, Missouri.
As an update to the announcement we wish to report that sales of
Horizon's VRP 2000 POS printer have surpassed the 5,000 unit mark in
just under four months.
The VRP 2000 is similar to the VeriFone P250 in that it uses the
same Epson 267 print mechanism, 3" roll paper ribbon, power supply,
and interface cable at a savings of 20 to 30 percent. Additionally,
the VRP 2000 offers an updated, more durable design including a
single hinged lid, replaceable metal tear bar, and is manufactured in
the USA.
Horizon has sold the VRP2000 to hundreds of banks and ISOs to
date, and can offer an impressive nationwide reference list of users.
The main purpose of the VRP 2000 is to offer a lowcost alternative
to the industry-standard printer. Many users see the VRP 2000 as an
alternative to both new and refurbished printers due to its
availability, price, and quality.
