Cheaper Terminal Released
A Korean manufacturing company, CNI, has recently released a new
terminal which is very similar to the VeriFone 250 but less
expensive.
The KSP310 friction printer is marketed toward the American and
European markets and while it is similar to the VeriFone model, the
company says that their aim is not to produce a cheaper version of
the P250, but a better device.
Some of the highlighted features of the KSP310 are:
- Prints one line per second faster than the P250
- Sells for about $50 less than the P250. (The price does not
drop significantly with quantity purchases, so smaller companies
can benefit just as much as larger ones.)
- Prints two pressure copies
- Available in single and two color printing models
- Uses a 7-pin serial impact dot-matrix head
- Feeds paper automatically
- Uses the same paper roll interface cable as P250
- Has 7kb memory and can be used with a data communication
terminal, electronic cash register, or as a kitchen printer.
