Creating a Productive Environment
- Expect the best to get the best; set high standards and expect
people, including yourself, to meet them.
- Be enthusiastic about your group's goals and mission, about
the individuals within the group, and about yourself.
- Allow people to make mistakes from which they can learn.
- Recognize and reward success or accomplishment, but don't be
afraid to give negative feedback.
- Understand what people want for themselves and what they're
willing to give in order to get what they want or need.
- Encourage cooperation within your group and reasonable
competitiveness with other groups.
- Encourage productive disagreement while helping to resolve
conflicts.
