Creating
Wealth as an ISO
Would you like to
attend a conference that has a crammed packed eight hours of cutting
edge ideas and discussions? That stays on schedule? The includes a
full day of presentations that give you ideas and challenge you to
combine these elements into you own direction? Then you needed to be
in Long Beach on January 15. The Green Sheet hosted "Creating Wealth
as an ISO," and 85 members of our Financial Services ISO community
took time out of their busy sales schedules to
participate.
The social discourse
missing in the financial services industry is being promoted by The
Green Sheet, Inc. Our seminars supply a venue where competitors can
meet and alternate viewpoints are discussed in a mutually supportive
environment.
While the tight
schedule packs a lot of information and ideas into an impossible
timeframe, the message of the seminar is one of hope and direction
for an industry that is in a state of revitalization.
The speakers all
received rave reviews for content and delivery relevant to ISOs. The
agenda included presentations from David Mierkey,
CrossCheck, speaking on "Building and Promoting an Effective
Check Guarantee Service." Terry Stoupa, SCAN, explained
verification and how SCAN specifically handles verification. Meirkey
and Stoupa discussed opportunities for combining guarantee and
verification, and the direction towards virtual products.
Ron Tunick,
Heartland Card Services, spoke on how to find and sell high-risk
high-volume bankcard accounts. He gave ISOs specific details on
growing their residual base.
The equipment panel
discussion included: Amy Goodson, VeriFone; Kathleen Carey, Lipman
USA; and Mike English, Dassault AT. Each of them addressed
the latest and greatest equipment offerings from their respective
company. We then opened the floor to a lively discussion on footprint
and advancing technologies. VeriFone unveiled their newest machine,
which does not even have literature available yet. The attendees were
given their first opportunity to quiz the equipment reps and get
their hands on the devices. Seventy-eight percent of attendees rated
the "usefulness" of this panel as "Very Good" or
"Excellent."
Bob Carr,
Heartland Card Services, wrapped the day up with a discussion on
making the individual ISO financially strong. He detailed how to
analyze your business and learn to make money for yourself as well as
your bank.
Evaluations from this
initial effort tell us that the Green Sheet Seminars are a hit. The
attendees of our debut event at the Long Beach Hilton provided
valuable feedback for the continued direction of the seminars. A full
84% of attendees rated the overall program as "Very Good" or
"Excellent."
If you missed us in
Long Beach, join us in Atlanta on February 5, where we will be
adding more equipment vendors to the discussion. Additionally, Dennis
McCarthy, EBT Relations Manager for BUYPASS, and a discussion of
Internet commerce solutions will be added to the agenda.
If you like what
you read in the GS, here's your opportunity to live it for eight
hours; if you don't, here's your opportunity to tell us why. Come
meet The Green Sheet staff, network with other ISOs, quiz the
vendors, and stump Paul Green.
We will accept
pre-registration for each seminar until 2 days prior; however, hotel
room reservation deadlines will be much earlier. [We have no
rooms available for Atlanta at this time.] Walk-in registration
will be accepted at the seminars, however, space is
limited.
