Name Your Price!
Name Your
Price!
As you may know, many
businesses who traditionally sold their products and services in
person or by phone, are beginning to experience significant results
from their web sites and Internet based marketing
solutions.
As an evolution, soon
consumers will be able to call the shots when purchasing airline
tickets, cars, or even homes. Priceline.com develops proprietary
electronic relationships with companies and allows buyers to name the
price they're ready to pay and sellers the price they will
accept.
Priceline.com is a Web
site offering buyer-driven commerce, allowing buyers to name their
price, sellers to decide if they will agree to that price. This year,
priceline.com will introduce three "name-your-own-price"
applications. The first will debut this month when priceline will
enable travelers to name their own price for airline tickets. This
summer, priceline.com will expand to include new car sales, and in
late-fall, they will roll out their third application, home
mortgages.
To name their own price,
consumers will go to http://www.priceline.com,
fill out a price request and will be notified electronically whether
or not any eligible sellers agreed to their price. Those without
Internet access can have someone else make the initial request and
then check on the status via a toll-free number.
Priceline.com was
founded in March 1996 and has 60 employees. For more information call
(212) 807-7500.
