Even our nation's
president thinks you should tap into the Internet. That's right,
President Clinton has backed the Internet Tax Freedom Act, which puts
up to a five-year moratorium on new taxes on products sold on the
Web. The bill allows states to assess taxes for goods sold in-state,
which is the current policy.
"There should be no
special rates for the Internet, but we can't allow unfair taxation to
weigh it down and stunt the development of the most promising new
economic opportunity in decades," Clinton stated.
Since Internet commerce
is expected to reach $150 billion in the next few years, that's quite
an incentive for out-of-state consumers to shop on-line and for you
to get interested in the Internet!
