A Thing Inside This Issue
GO Software Is On The GO

GO Software, Inc., has a new Internet solution called IP-Charge which processes credit card transactions over the Net using TCP/IP protocol. IP Charge is different from other Internet solutions because it sends data via the Internet directly to the credit card processing company, rather than via traditional data communications to the processor.

IP-Charge is certified with Electronic Clearing House, Inc., (ECHO) and similar functionality will be added for other credit card processing companies as they implement direct Internet connectivity.

"Initially businesses set up Web sites for promotional and informational purposes. The market trends are to move these sites to profit centers by taking orders directly over the Web. Market studies have shown e-commerce-enabled sites increase business and achieve cost saving by automating the order taking process. Real-time credit card authorization is one of the most important features and represents the demarcation point between Web sites serving as information sources and those with the potential to develop into profit centers," stated Ken Boekhaus VP of Sales and Marketing for GO Software.

IP-Charge enables any Internet site to accept credit card payments in real time. The software is designed for easy integration and scalability to support a range of needs from new on-line merchants operating their own sites, to large ISPs and CSPs hosting multiple merchant sites. IP-Charge is multi-threaded, which means transactions are interleaved and submitted to the credit card processor for immediate authorization and capture. Resulting transaction processing time is limited by speed of the Internet with typical processing times of five seconds, regardless of local volume. Security is provided using the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology.

IP-Charge is an ActiveX DLL and is available from GO Software as a free download from GO Softwareís web site at www.gosoftinc.com. The download is for evaluation purposes and has a test merchant number and sample Microsoft Visual Basic Application and Active Server Page (ASP) order form.

Merchants pay a one-time license fee to register the merchant number or business and there are no per transaction fees. GO Software can be reached on the Web at www.gosoftinc.com or by calling (800) 725-9264.
