Thing as a Dumb Smart Card Pilot
The recent
failure and premature end of the New York Smart Card Trial was not
enough for some industry players to pronounce the concept dead. In
fact, the Smart Card Forum, a multi-industry organization working to
accelerate the acceptance of Smart Card technology, has added seven
new members. They are: Centura Software, CIARSE S.A., Dione Plc,
Greater Cleveland RTA, Iridium LLC, Ministry of Transportation of
Ontario, and one you WILL recognize- First Data
Corporation.
These
companies bring the number of members who joined The Smart Card Forum
during 1998 up to 50; total membership is approximately 200. For more
