Update
Risk Management
Systems, Inc., (RMS) a provider of information services to card
processors and acquirers, has signed an exclusive agreement with
Shared Information Systems, Ltd., (SIS) to provide enhanced
chargeback data to the industry. Under the terms of this agreement,
SIS will continue to market its service directly to merchants, and
RMS will have exclusive rights to the processor and acquirer sectors
of the market.
SIS operates
nochargebacks.com a fraud prevention solution for Internet, mail
order, and direct marketing merchants (see Green Sheet lead story in
issue 98:12:02). The service provides merchants with the resources
necessary to make a calculated decision whether to accept or continue
processing a credit card transaction by checking, among other things,
past chargeback activity of the cardholder. "We don't make the
Internet a safe place to shop; we make the Internet a safe place to
sell," says Steve Peisner, President and CEO of SIS.
"The SIS offering
fits very well with our strategy of utilizing the Internet as a safe,
economical delivery mechanism," states Todd Linden, President and COO
of RMS. "As we enjoy greater penetration of information-oriented
products and services via the Internet, expanding the end users
ability to determine suspect activity adds value to our product
line."
RMS plans to allow
access to the SIS database via its risk monitoring system as well as
MercServ and MercView product lines. "SIS will clearly benefit from
being associated with RMS' product lines as well as having access to
the databases of participating processors. The more information you
deposit into the program, the more effective the program becomes,"
notes Peinser. For more information, contact Catherine Boyer at RMS
at (310) 235-2500, ext. 226 or Steve Peisner at (818)
878-9700.
