ECS is Now
creditcards.com
Electronic Card
Systems (ECS) has changed its name to creditcards.com. According to
company chairman Richard Gordon, "creditcards.com represents commerce
on the Internet through credit card transactions, and Virtual
Terminal is the commerce solution for credit card processing on the
Internet." The companyís Virtual Terminal product is its
latest real-time, transaction-processing portal.
"With the
emergence of ECS as the leading force in non-face-to-face credit card
transactions, more than 25 million real-time merchant transactions
conducted in the past four years alone, and the introduction of
Virtual Terminal, the time is right to adopt the domain name we
staked out years ago to house ECS, creditcards.com," Gordon
says.
With Virtual
Terminal, merchants can begin conducting business on-line in less
than 24 hours, supported by a suite of transaction processing and
reporting services that do not require the purchase of a hardware
terminal. Merchants key data directly on-screen, then submit the data
to their authorization and settlement processing networks via the
Internet. Typically, authorization responses are returned in less
than five seconds. Because VIRTUAL TERMINAL is not dependent on a
specific site or POS device, merchants can work from remote locations
via a PC, laptop, palmtop, or WebTV.
ECSís
founders have been serving as credit card acquiring consultants since
1989 and formed ECS in 1992. At that time, ECS became the first
company dedicated exclusively to arranging credit card merchant
banking facilities for companies conducting non-face-to-face
transactions. ECSí first clients were MO/TO companies. As
Internet usage spread among consumers, ECS positioned itself to adopt
Internet merchants as well.
Based in Los
Angeles, with offices in Washington, D.C., creditcards.com is the
first credit card merchant acquirer to establish its own integrated
real-time authorization and transaction processing network that fully
incorporates a risk-management and merchant-reporting system. For
