Equifax
No, this is not a
story about Equifax selling its check business, as NPC has just done,
but rather a major "coopetition" between would be rivals, CheckFree
and Equifax. Equifax E-Banking Solutions and CheckFree have announced
a three-year reseller agreement for electronic bill presentment and
payment (EBPP).
Under the
agreement, E-Banking Solutions will resell E-Bill services to its
customer base, which includes credit unions and banks. David
Peterson, senior vice president/general manager of Equifax, says, "By
partnering with CheckFree to become an authorized reseller of
CheckFree E-Bill we can provide sophisticated Internet-based
solutions for our customers, allowing them to effectively compete in
the marketplace."
