Cyber Growth
in America's Heartland
Heartland Payment
Systems (a subsidiary of Heartland Bank, a familiar name to many
readers who enjoyed Heartland Card Services CEO, Bob Carr's
"Knowledge is Power" series), has teamed up with CyberSource Corp.,
to provide Web merchants with a one-stop credit card solution which
combines the account setup combined with secure real-time
processing.
HPS provides
Merchant Provisioning System (MPS), the merchant account application
system which lets merchants apply online in a six-step process. When
combined with CyberSource's eCommerce Transaction Services, merchants
can accept VISA and MasterCard payments in as little as 48 hours.
John Waldron, vice president of Internet marketing and sales for HPS
said, "The combination of CyberSource services and HPS' 48-hour
online merchant account application process provides Web merchants
with a significant time-to-market advantage."
You may be
thinking, "I've read quite a few articles in The Green Sheet, and
elsewhere, about companies who process virtual payments," and you're
correct. But, if your merchants need additional eCommerce functions,
such as fraud screening or delivery address verification, the
CyberSource/HPS solution may be right for them.
But it's not only
merchants who benefit from "going live" in a matter of hours; ISPs
can also benefit through Heartland's Value Added Reseller Program
which allows VARs to earn a signing bonus and ongoing residual
payment for any merchant that joins the HPS/ CyberSource merchant
program.
As many GS readers
know, Heartland Payment Services is a full-service merchant card
processor for credit, debit, ATM, and check cards. The company also
offers reconciliation, compensation, ACHing of merchant funds, draft
retrieval processing, and chargeback processing.
