Speaking of
Cyber Shopping
NextCard has
formed a marketing agreement with USATODAY.com, which makes NextCard
the sole marketer of credit cards on the USATODAY Web site. NextCard
will also be a sponsor of Marketplace, USATODAY.com's e-commerce
section.
As you know from
issue 98:11:03 the concept of becoming a "sole provider" of credit
cards on a particular site or search engine is not only valuable, but
popular. Card companies are recognizing the value of Internet
consumers, and are willing to pay for a share of the
market.
Dan Springer,
chief marketing officer at NextCard, said, "Our presence on
USATODAY.com enables us to reach a targeted group of the online
community interested in Internet-based financial
services."
The NextCard name
may be familiar to you as NextCard made history in December 1997 by
launching The First True Internet Visa. Today, 1.5 million people
have applied for the NextCard Internet Visa which is different from
other cards because:
- My Visa offers
customized upgrades and personalized PictureCard designs (see
issue 99:05:02),
- consumers earn
up to double rewards for free travel on any airline, books, and
music,
- 100% safe
online shopping guarantee,
- online account
service including the ability to view and sort statements online,
and
- 24-hour
Internet-savvy telephone support.
