O’Melveny advises GetReal Security on Series A funding round

SILICON VALLEY—March 27, 2025—O’Melveny advised GetReal Security, a cybersecurity leader, on its US$17.5 million Series A funding round.

Announced on March 26, the funding round was led by Forgepoint Capital, with participation from Ballistic Ventures, Evolution Equity, and K2 Access Fund, In-Q-Tel (IQT), Cisco Investments, and Capital One Ventures.

GetReal Security is the cybersecurity leader specializing in the detection and mitigation of threats posed by malicious generative AI content including deepfakes and impersonation attacks. Its technology serves multinational corporations, financial institutions, media organizations, government agencies, and social media companies.

The O’Melveny team advising GetReal was led by Silicon Valley M&A partner David Makarechian, chair of the firm’s Emerging Technologies Group and head of the firm’s Northern California Corporate Department, and associates Jamie Lee and Matthew Cook.
