Salone dei Pagamenti expands international ecosystem with Fintech District

Wednesday, September 16, 2026 — 17:20:18 (UTC)

Salone dei Pagamenti expands its international ecosystem with Fintech District Milan, 16 September 2026 — Salone dei Pagamenti, Italy's leading event for innovation in payments and financial services, is expanding its international ecosystem through a collaboration with Fintech District, the international community that connects more than 300 companies in the fintech and techfin ecosystem and fosters partnerships and development opportunities between the Italian market and international hubs.

Taking place from 24 to 26 November, the 2026 edition of Salone dei Pagamenti will broaden the involvement of international operators and innovative players, creating new opportunities for dialogue and collaboration among the financial industry, fintech, businesses and investors. The collaboration will support the development of “Stay Fintech, Stay Tech”, the area of the Salone dedicated to fintech and techfin solutions and their application in financial services and business processes. The area will serve as a meeting point for innovative companies, financial institutions, corporates and investors, with a particular focus on international collaboration opportunities.

Fintech District will help engage Italian and international companies, communities and innovation hubs, develop content dedicated to innovation in financial services, and foster opportunities for networking, collaboration and business development among participants.

The agreement strengthens Salone dei Pagamenti's strategy of broadening the conversation on digital transformation, open finance and financial innovation, creating an increasingly open and international space for startups, operators, corporates and investors. Within this framework, the connection with Agorà del Futuro will further link technological innovation, finance and new business development models.

Gianluca Tiani, Head of the Strategy, Innovation and International Division at ABI and Director General of ABIServizi, commented: "Innovation in payments and financial services increasingly calls for cross-pollination between different worlds, the ability to build connections, and international openness. This is the direction of the path undertaken with Fintech District, which helps strengthen Il Salone dei Pagamenti as a space for dialogue among banks, fintechs, businesses, investors and new players in innovation."

Clelia Tosi, Head of Fintech District, commented: "This collaboration highlights Fintech District's ability to connect the Italian market with international companies, communities and hubs. Bringing our network into Il Salone dei Pagamenti means helping to attract new players, facilitate access to the Italian ecosystem, and generate concrete opportunities for collaboration between Italian and international operators".

The collaboration already had the first international activation at Money20/20 Europe, one of the leading global events dedicated to fintech and financial innovation, held in Amsterdam from 2 to 4 June. Fintech District and Il Salone dei Pagamenti jointly took part in the Italian Pavilion organised by ICE-Agenzia, helping to promote the Italian ecosystem and build relationships with international companies and operators.

About Il Salone dei Pagamenti

Il Salone dei Pagamenti was created in 2016 by ABI and ABIServizi with the aim of establishing Italy’s most important event on payments and innovation — the reference event for the financial industry, the credit sector, institutions, businesses, public administration, service companies, payment networks, large-scale retail, telecoms, and all interested professionals.

Today, after ten extraordinary editions, the Salone has become an internationally recognised event — a not-to-be-missed opportunity to meet leading experts and major market players, explore the many topics covered in the conference programme, and engage with key players across 10,000 square metres of exhibition space.

A unique showcase for announcing partnerships, launching new solutions, and presenting products and services for secure, transparent and simple payments.
