365 Retail Markets and Evergreen Refreshments Bring Just Walk Out Technology by Amazon to Lake Washington Institute of Technology

New autonomous store lets students, faculty, and staff shop and go, with no lines and no checkout, day or night.

KIRKLAND, Wash., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- 365 Retail Markets, a member of Amazon's Just Walk Out Certified Partner Network, today announced the opening of a new checkout-free store for Evergreen Refreshments, the Pacific Northwest's longest-serving breakroom service provider, in the cafeteria at Lake Washington Institute of Technology. The store brings Amazon's Just Walk Out technology together with the 365 platform Evergreen Refreshments already uses to run its campus locations.

Unlike a micro market or a locked vending cabinet, the new store gives shoppers a full, walkable retail space with a wider selection of products. Shoppers enter using a card, mobile wallet, or the 365Pay app at the entry gate. The technology detects what shoppers take from or return to the shelves and builds a virtual cart as they shop. When shoppers are finished selecting their items, they simply leave the store, and their chosen payment method is charged for the items they took.

"This launch is a great example of how new autonomous retail solutions can keep pace with how campuses like Lake Washington Institute of Technology operate. Students get a full retail experience with no lines and extended hours, and Evergreen gets a store built to handle campus life at its best and busiest," said Jeff Dumbrell, Chief Revenue Officer at 365 Retail Markets.

For Evergreen Refreshments, the store is designed to match the rhythms of campus life. It clears the lunch rush by handling more transactions in any given window, with fewer lost sales when lines would otherwise build at peak and lead to abandoned transactions. It also expands access during hours that previously offered only vending machines or no options at all, providing the campus with a consistent shopping experience at any hour.

"Lake Washington Institute of Technology has been a great partner, and we're excited to bring their students something new. This store gives them a place to grab what they need, any time of day, without ever waiting in line," said Arthur Siller, SVP of Business Development at Evergreen Refreshments.

As part of the Just Walk Out Certified Partner Network, 365 Retail Markets serves as the single point of accountability for the store build, managing design, installation, camera calibration, and gate setup from start to finish. The technology connects directly into the 365 platform Evergreen Refreshments already runs, so catalog management, payment processing, and reporting continue through the same systems and workflows its team knows today. 365 Retail Markets also serves as Evergreen Refreshments' first line of support for the store, managed through its existing field teams, with escalation to Amazon for deeper technology or hardware support.
