Leaf launches Leaf Membership Network for tablet POS platform

Tuesday, April 30, 2013 — 16:04:22 (UTC)

Leaf Announces a Better Way to Sell Merchant Credit Card Processing

Cambridge, Mass., April 30, 2013 -- Leaf, creators of the world’s first tablet specifically designed for commerce, today unveiled the Leaf Membership Network for merchant acquirer organizations, a nationwide reseller program designed to deliver additional value to payment professionals. Starting today, partners can apply for membership to join the network and bundle Leaf’s platform with their core payment products, including gift cards and loyalty offerings. Leaf Membership Network partners will be able to close more merchant processing relationships and reduce attrition of current merchant customers while adding a new revenue stream. Early pilots with some of the biggest names in the payment industry indicate that partners selling Leaf in addition to core payment processing services are closing on average 66 percent more merchants.

As payment organizations struggle to compete in a highly competitive and overcrowded market, the Leaf Membership Network empowers payment processor sales professionals to offer the latest technology in mobile payments and cloud-based business management to protect and grow their merchant portfolios. By giving merchants an easy, out-of-the box way to automate daily tasks, increase visibility into their operations and access sophisticated analytics to make better business decisions, Leaf’s platform adds an essential merchant solution to a payment organization’s other offerings.

“In this crowded, competitive industry, there are different types of new entrants offering untraditional merchant solutions coming in to the market every day,” said Aron Schwartzkopf, CEO of Leaf. “With credit card rates being commoditized, independent sales organizations are searching for new, innovative ways to attract and retain merchants. Leaf’s open approach to payments offers a seamless reseller option for our partners to empower their sales teams with a new, competitive solution while at the same time enabling traditional players to easily adopt and offer cloud and mobile technologies.”

Partners joining the program pay a yearly membership fee, and in return receive a broad range of benefits including a Leaf tablet and account, partner support team, complete training program and marketing materials. For every new merchant that signs up with Leaf, merchant acquirers receive a commission, replacing what has traditionally been an expense with a valuable new revenue stream.

Merchant acquirers may apply for membership starting today, with the program officially launching on June 1st. However, organizations attending the Electronics Transaction Association Annual Meeting and Conference in New Orleans are eligible to apply for early access to the network.
