Interact launches Interact Verify simulation software to test impacts of data center hardware

Toronto, Sept. 29, 2026—Data centre efficiency specialist Interact has today announced the official launch of Interact Verify, a world-first simulation software that allows organisations to test the cost, performance and environmental impacts of data centre hardware.

Organisations will also be able to see how planned changes could affect their official environmental ratings, including requirements under the EU Energy Efficiency Directive and the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres.

The launch comes as pressure grows on operators to expand capacity while controlling costs and resource use. Global data centre electricity consumption is projected to more than double to around 945 TWh by 2030, while recent proposals by the European Commission seek to introduce a common rating scheme for data centres based on measures including energy and water efficiency. The Commission has also begun consultation on minimum performance standards.

Interact has developed Interact Verify following 10 years of conducting peer-reviewed research, with data from more than 500 data centres. It is capable of using formal measurements required by EU regulations in its simulations due to the breadth of this dataset.

Interact Verify enables organisations to model changes across new and existing estates and assess their effects on performance, cost, energy use, carbon emissions and water consumption. It also provides an official, evidence-based record of environmental performance.

Operating as a self-service tool, the software allows organisations to upload details of their existing systems and compare different hardware, consolidation and migration scenarios. The results are produced in minutes, with verified evidence on each option ahead of an investment decision or hardware refresh.

Rich Kenny, Managing Director at Interact and Chair of the IEEE Water Resource Technologies Working Group, said: "Today’s launch marks a significant milestone for us. We have built Interact Verify on a decade of advisory, data and research, to respond to the greatest challenges faced by data centre operators.

Interact, which has been recognised as a Gartner Cool Vendor, has supported the Netherlands government, Tier 1 banks and global service providers to improve IT server efficiency. Interact Verify is now available to organisations across the UK, Europe and North America via the Interact website.
