Electronic Payments accepts ALS Ice Bucket challenge, makes donation

Michael Nardy Calverton, N.Y., Aug. 29, 2014 – National payments processor, Electronic Payments, joins the fight against ALS as CEO and Boston College alumnus, Michael Nardy, accepted the ALS Ice Bucket challenge on Saturday, August 23rd. Electronic Payments provides payment processing services to numerous ALS Association Chapters and pledged a monetary donation of $5,000 to be shared amongst these organizations.

“Due to our existing relationship with the ALS Association Chapters, we are poised to work collaboratively with the organizations,” stated Mr. Nardy. “We are glad to do our part in increasing the visibility and awareness of ALS while providing charitable support.”

Mr. Nardy was originally challenged by a fellow Electronic Payments staff member. He intends to keep the momentum going per his nomination of Matthew Findlan, Electronic Payments COO and fellow Boston College alumnus, and Electronic Payments representative Bryan Sousa, who works closely with many ALS organizations across the country.

Pete Frates, a former Boston College baseball player, is currently living with ALS and helped launch the Ice Bucket Challenge in hopes of raising awareness and finding a cure for the disease.

“The Boston College community extends beyond states, borders and generations. If we can support Pete Frates and others with ALS, we are excited to do so,” continued Michael Nardy.
